Notes:
Frank C. Hanrahan (1883-1954)2 was a drug store owner in Portsmouth VA.
In the 1901 Portsmouth City directory, he's listed in the residential section as an apprentice, and in previous years he was listed as a clerk, so presumably he was learning the drugstore business.
Hanrahan's first location was 1006 Green Street, which is the same address that Jerome P. Carr's Pharmacy just vacated, so presumably he took over that location in 1902 from Carr.
The bottle below is embossed with "THE PEOPLES' PHARMACY", but that name doesn't appear in any city directories, so presumably it was a slogan and not a store name.

In 1911, under the name "Hanrahan & Williams", Hanrahan and his partner moved their store at the Corner of High and Court Streets.3
This location was known as "Kirn's Korner", named after Mr. Henry Kirn who owned the building at that location.4

The last year Hanrahan is listed as a druggist in city directories is 1913. In May of that year, the store at that location became known as the Kirn Korner Pharmacy, with C.E. Wise as president, and Hanrahan as the vice president. 5

In subsequent years, Hanrahan is listed as a Collector, then as the City Manager of Portsmouth.1
