N.B. Schmitt Drugstore

Company Names, addresses, dates:
  N.B. Schmitt, Strasburg VA (1888-1906) 1,2

Notes:
Nelson Bender Schmitt (1855-1906)3 was the son of Bernadoitte Schmitt, who ran a drug store in Woodstock VA.4

Nelson was listed in the 1880 US census as a clerk in a drug store, presumably his father's drug store, as they were living in the same household in Woodstock VA.4
In 1888 he purchased the drugstore in Strasburg, previously owned by Drs. G.A. Brown and J.A. Crawford. Strasburg hired C.L. Kneisley to manage the store. 2

If you're wondering why Nelson didn't run the store himself, it seems that by 1898, he actually owned 3 separate drug stores, the one in Strasburg, one in Edinburg VA, and one in Moorefield WV.5

Nelson passed away in 19063.
Shortly after that, Kneisley purchased the drug store2. Thereafter it was known as Kneisley's Drug Store.
