Notes:
George William May (1844-1898)1 had a drugstore in Staunton VA.
I saw a labeled bottle on ebay for the G.W.May & Co drug store, and it said the address was "Augusta St., Staunton, Virginia".
One of the items listed below is from 1883/84, so May's drugstore existed during that time. Staunton city directories from the 1890s list May as an insurance agent with "Ker & May", so presumably his drugstore didn't last into the 1890s.

may_02 This is the back of a "Green's Diary Almanac" from 1883-1884, showing an advertisement for May's drug store. It says:
