Notes:
 Walter Douglas Clark Sr. (1876-1952)2 was a druggist in Portsmouth VA.
The 1897 Portsmouth city directory listed him as a drug clerk, working at 1201 County Street, which was the drugstore of Walter K. Hodges. Beginning in the 1900 city directory, Clark shows up as owning his own drug store.1

Clark Sr. was a member of the Knights Templar, Khedive Temple Shrine, Elks, Va Pharmaceutical Association, and Va State Boar of Pharmacy. He retired circa 1945.3
The city directory for that year listed his son, Walter Douglas Clark Jr. (1900-1949)4 as the owner of the store. 1

After Walter Jr. passed away, the drugstore name was listed as "Clark's Pharmacy" in the city directories. I don't know if Clark Sr. still owned the store at that time, or if someone else purchased it and kept the Clark nam. The store lasted until at least 1960 - I don't have access to any Petersburg directories after that year to know when it closed.
