Notes:
William Edward Snellings Jr (1872-1963)2
passed his Assistant Pharmacy exam in 1896.3
By 1897 he had opened his own drugstore on Church Street.1
His store on Church street moved twice over the years, and lasted until
about 1952, after which it breifly was on Brambleton Avenue until it
closed down completely.
He opened a 2nd store on James Street in 1905, which became the
Olympia Pharmacy in subsequent years. I don't know if Snellings was
associated with it when it was called the Olympia Pharmacy. 1
He also opened a store near the corner of Granby and 32nd Streets
for a few years. 1
Snellings retired in 1938.4
Dan Hugh Heflin (1886-1959)5, who had been a pharmacist
at Snellings store, took over as the owner, but kept the Snellings
name for the pharmacy. 1
Heflin retired in 1958, which seems to be about the time that the store
closed for good. 6
