Notes:
 William Francis Phillips (1849-1906)2 was a druggist as early as 18703.
The Norfolk city directories list him as either a drug clerk or druggist for various years in the 1870s and 1880s. 1

In 1887, he opened his own drugstore at 216 Main Street.4
The location was formerly home to the "Henry Schmitz" drug store.1

In 1897, Phillips' drug store was not listed in the Norfolk city directory, and the "Alfred T. West" drugstore was at 216 Main Street. Phillips shows up again in the 1898 city directory at a new location, 634 West Brambleton Avenue, where he stayed until 1900. 1

I don't know what happened to him after 1900, other than he passed away in 1906.2
