George's Drug Store

Company Names, addresses, dates:
S&M Pharmacy, 3401 Washington Avenue, Newport news VA 1
George's Drug Store, 7806 Virginia Ave, Newport news VA 2

Notes:
George Dewey Schleiger (1898-1959)3 was owner of the George's Drug Store, as well as the "S & M Pharmacy" in Newport News VA.4

In the 1920s and 30s, he shows up in some city directories as a druggist working at various stores in Newport News, including Klor's Rexall Store and Day's Pharmacy.
The earliest mention I could find of the "S & M Pharmacy" was in George's circa-1942 WWII Registration card, which said he was a pharmacist for that store at 3401 Washington Avenue. 1

The earliest mention I could find for the George's Drug Store was in 1953, with the address that matches the label on the bottle below, 7806 Virginia Avenue.2
I believe that Virginia Avenue was renamed to Warwick Blvd in 1958, but I was unable to confirm that.

George passed away in 1959, and I could find no information that the George's Drug Store lasted beyond that date.
