Frederick Clarke, 301 Main St., Danville VA (c.1890s-1915)

Notes:
Frederick A. Clarke (1852-1916)2 was a druggist in Danville, VA.
He was born in NY, and came to Danville circa 18733. The earliest Danville city directory I have access to is from 1881, and Clarke's drug store was listed in that directory, so it seems his drugstore started sometime between 1873 and 1881.
Clarke retired in 19152.
Clarke was born on October 31st (Halloween), and he died on July 4th (Independence day)2.
Clarke's middle initial looks like an "A" in the 1910 US Census. Neither his death certificate nor his obituary list any middle initial.

More information about Danville drug stores is available at rdricketts blog.
