Covington Pharmacy / W.H. Long

Company Names, addresses, dates:
Covington Pharmacy, W.H.Long Proprietor, Covington VA

Notes:
William Harry Long (1893-1963)1 ran the Covington Drug Store from about 1917 to the 1930's. After Long went out of business, T.C. Hodges bought the building and Donald Parr operated the drug store in that building.2.

A descendant of Mr. Long tells me that his drug store closed down after the stock market crash, and that in subsequent years he worked as a pharmacist for Walgreens.

By 1946, W. Harry Long was living in Monterey VA (about 20 miles north of Covington), where he was the proprietor of the Monterey Pharmacy, also known as the "Community Drug Store"3.
