Buena Vista Pharmacy

Company Names, addresses, dates:
Buena Vista Pharmacy, Buena Vista VA (ca.1910-1911) 1

Notes:
The bottles below are the only Virginia drugstore bottles I've seen so far (Jul 2014) that were made by the Millville bottle works (1903-1930).

Lewis Booker Whitehead (1885-1950)2 was a pharmacist in Buena Vista, and in 1910 he purchased a soda-water fountain fixture from the Liquid Carbonic Company for $940. In February 1911, he sold 1/2 interest in his pharmacy (including the soda fixture) to S. H. Yokely, who became a full partner, and they named the business the "Buena Vista Pharmacy". Whitehead was sued by the Liquid Carbonic Company, because he apparently didn't make his payments for the Soda Fixture. On August 15, 1911, Yokeley sold his interest to Edwin Kramer Morris (1888-1943)3, and the name was changed to "The Whitehead Drug Company Incorporated". 1
