Notes:
The Broadway Drug Store got its start in the mid 1920s when Howard Daniel Hercus Showalter (1882-1969)2 bought the store from George S. Aldhizer.1

Howard's son, Carl Grove Showalter (1911-2005)3 got his BS in Pharmacy in 19324.
Shortly after that, he took over the business.1

Carl's son, Nelson Showalter Graduated in 1967 and became a pharmacist in the UVA Medical Center, and 2 years later came back to Broadway and worked for his father. In 1987 Nelson bought the pharmacy from his father, and ran it until it closed in 2021.1

Based on the label on the bottle below, this pharmacy was part of the the Rexall chain of drug stores for a time.

The "Weather Chart" and other information provided on this calendar seems to indicate it was similar to an almanac.
