Company Names, addresses, dates: 1
Dicksons Drug Store, Bridgewater VA (1925-c1960+)
Notes:
James Newton Dickson was born c.1890 in Greenbrier County, WV. He graduated in pharmacy from the
University College of Medicine at Richmond in 1913. He worked at other peoples drugstores in
West Virginia, Norfolk, Waynesboro & Charlottesville for 12 years.
Then in 1925 he opened a drugstore in Bridgewater. He sold his soda fountain in 1946 because it
kept him too busy.1
Dickson's Drug store lasted until at least 1960, as that's the last year I can find a newspaper
advertisement for it.2
