E.W. Sanford & Co

Company Names, addresses, dates:
  E.W. Sanford & Co, Blackstone VA (ca.1903-19??) 1
  Barrow-Sanford Drug Co, Blackstone VA (1907-19??) 2

Notes:
Ernest Waller Sanford (1876-1942)3 was listed in the 1910 US Census as a drug clerk, living in Richmond VA.
He moved to Farmville VA about 1902, where he was a pharmacist as well as a politician. He served as mayor of Farmville for 12 years, and was a member of the House of Delegates from 1934 until his death in 1942. He was also a member of the Masons, Lions club, Odd Fellows, and Baptist Church. 4
He was an owner or partner in at least 4 drugstores in Farmville & Blackstone:
E.W. Sanford & Co in Blackstone
    Barrow-Sanford in Blackstone
    McIntosh & Sanford in Farmville (1910-1912) 5
White Drug Co in Farmville (1910-1940)5
The earliest evidence of "E.W. Sanford & Co" I could find was a mention in a 1903 newspaper 1. I don't know when that company ended.
The "Burrow-Sanford drug Co" was incorporated in 19072, although it may have existed before that. I don't know when it ended.
In Farmville, Sanford teamed up with Frank McIntosh to form "McIntosh & Sanford" from 1910 to 1912, then in 1912 he merged with the "White Drug Co" while McIntosh got a new partner.5

There is a photo of Ernest at his find-a-grave site
