West End Pharmacy

Company Names, addresses, dates:
  West End Pharmacy, Abingdon VA

Notes:
I've found newspaper references to the West End Pharmacy in Abingdon VA from 1936 to 1959. In April/May 1936, they were defending themselves (with 4 other drug stores) in court for violating the VA Alcohol Beverage Control Board regulations regarding the sale of alcohol. Their license for selling alcohol was suspended1.

A 1944 newspaper legal breif mentioned that the president of the West End Pharmacy was W.A. Maiden2.
Warren Aston Maiden (1883-1952)3 was listed as an Abingdon VA druggist in the US Census for 1920 & 1930. He died on April 13, 1952 at age 68, after having worked as a druggist for 40 years4.
