This web page contiains a transcription of a diary of William Gaige Munson (my Great-Great-Grandfather) from the year 1863, during the Civil War. William Munson was a Sutler with the 16th Wisconsin Infantry. A Sutler is a civilian who supplies the soldiers with goods such as newspapers, books, razors, cups, etc. If anybody can shed any light or can supply information about the people and places he writes about, please feel free to contact me.
