In 1902, he's not listed in the Washington DC city directory, and in subsequent years, he's listed under the business category of "Flour & Feed". So he must have left the Grocery business to become a provider of Flour & Feed. A newspaper article in 1911 referred to his business as the "Northwestern Flour & Feed Company"3.
